STEVE HOLMAN

Steve Holman’s Focus 4 Exercise System Let’s You Lose More Weight While Working Out Less

What do you believe in your life?
In Simon Sinek’s book, Start With Why, he explains that people don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. In terms of you, it means you don’t follow people for what they are; you follow them for what they believe in. This is important because if you follow someone who doesn’t have a strong belief in their work, then you won’t get the results that you want.
It’s important then to know what Steve Holman, author of the Old School New Body book, believes in.
From my research, I have found that Steve is man of strong beliefs. He believes that if more people were to use his type of sensible weight training workouts consistently, then it could help drastically reduce the sky-high costs of national healthcare (according to statistics, in 2012 U.S. health care spending increased 3.7 percent to reach $2.8 trillion, or $8,915 per person ).
He believes that if more people would do this type of workout, it may even be possible to reduce the amount and impact of the obesity epidemic that is plaguing the people of this nation. Data from the weight control information network says more than two-thirds (68.8 percent) of adults age 20 and older are considered to be overweight or obese. Almost 3 in 5 women fall into this category.
To achieve this purpose, Steve realized he has to do one thing: create a weight training workout that is simple to do and works with a minimum amount of effort. If the workouts are too hard or too long, it’s enough to make people stop working out, no matter how good their intentions are.
Steve relies on his 25 years of experience as Editor-in-Chief of Iron Man magazine. He relies not only on his own experience, but the experience of the best fitness athletes in the world. As a result, he has created a program called the Focus 4 Exercise (or F4X) system. He has put all the exercises, foods to eat, and action plans into one, easy to understand handbook that you can put into action in as short as 2-3 hours.
Imagine that: if you were to try to figure it out on your own, you would have to order all the back issues of Iron Man magazine and still spend hundreds of hours on Google!
Just to save the amount of time alone is worth investing in Steve’s book.

Steve Holman Biography

Of course, you can’t truly place your trust in someone who doesn’t do what he says. Therefore, to get a more complete picture of Steve Holman and his wife Becky, here is their short biography I copy from their site: http://steveholman.com/about/
We have been married for 28 years and have two daughters, Chelsea, 21, and Lindsey, 17. Steve started weight training at 15 as a skinny 119-pounder and has been training ever since (more than 35 years).
Becky has been working out on and off for more than 20 years, but she lapsed in her 30s while raising her two daughters. In her 40s she became fed up with her overweight appearance and made a radical physical transformation in only a few months (her story is part of the e-book Old School New Body). She is now a regular contributor of lifestyle- and nutrition-based items to IRON MAN magazine.
Steve has been IM‘s Editor in Chief for more than 25 years. He has written more than 20 books on weight training and nutrition and has also penned hundreds of articles on building muscle and burning fat. Steve has also interviewed many legendary physique stars, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cory Everson and Lee Labrada.
The Old School New Body book promotes Steve trademark Focus 4 Exercise system. It’s a workout that’s designed to produce results in 90 minutes a week (at around 30 minutes per workout). It’s even designed especially for trainees over 35 with minimum experience.
In Becky’s case, she is 50 years old and is in fantastic shape. She trains for only 90 minutes a week with a version of the LEAN program (the first phase of F4X). Steve himself is 53, trains around 3 or 4 times a week, with an average of 50 minutes per workout. His training is similar to the BUILD workout (the third phase of F4X). Younger people can use it too – one case is Steve and Becky’s daughter who does the F4X workouts to keep off the bodyfat and stay in shape while she goes to college.
Here is a rare video I found online showing Steve posing in his “old school new body”

Steve has made the system as simple as possible to get people moving and feeling the benefits of safe, sane proper weight training. Again, this is important because the easier it is to do the exercises, the more people will want to do it. The more people do it, the healthier they will be, which will reduce the national healthcare cost and even reduce the obesity epidemic.
As you can see, Steve Holman and his wife Becky are an authentic couple. They truly care about their mission to improve the quality of people’s lives by making weight loss possible. They focus on the top 20% of exercises and foods that affect 80% of weight loss, and condense it into the Focus 4 Exercise system (F4X) you can find in their ebook. It is so effective, that you can lose more weight while working out less.
One thing you should be clear about: although the system is simple, it does involve work. In Steve’s words, an old fashioned work ethic is required. You don’t work long, but you do work hard. It goes without saying, but I know that you are the type of person who doesn’t mind doing the hard work, if the results are promising.
I believe that Steve has successfully created a simple approach to weight loss. It can help you become more comfortable and confident in your body – and make you feel like your old self again.
